Kairlin®

Kaïros Environnement

Description :
Kairlin® was designed by Kaïros to become an alternative to petrochemical materials used in the printing, POS, signage, furniture and design sectors.

Thanks to a design through several Life Cycle Analyzes (ACV), natural raw materials and a local supply and manufacturing chain, Kairlin® reduces the environmental impact of the panels:
- flax is an annual plant requiring few resources, grown in Normandy
- Kairlin® is produced in Normandy using exclusively natural materials
- at the end of its life, Kairlin® is recyclable and compostable in industrial compost (certification in progress)

Kairlin® has also been designed to be easily used by conventional manufacturing and transformation processes:
- Formats: 2400x1200mm in various thicknesses (1-50mm), colors (brown, white, black, woven) and structures (monolithic or cork sandwich).
- Machining: manual cutting, CNC cutting and machining, milling, cutter and laser
- Printing: UV printing, screen printing, lamination (roughness Ra < 0.8μm)
- Thermoforming: hot bending, thermoforming on mold of developable shapes

Kairlin® is patented, uses development carried out within the European research program FLOWER, won the JEC Award 2022 in the Design and Furniture category and its recycling chain is developed with the French environmental agency (ADEME).
