Bio-Composite Plastics

Biobent Polymers

Description :
Biobent’s bio-composites can be produced using a wide variety of base resins; polypropylene, polyethylene, polystyrene, PBS, PVC, TPO or even PLA.
Target markets include industrial, consumer, medical, food services, packaging and many others.

Products can be injection molded, thermoformed, extruded, blow molded, or made into film (cast or blown) or non-wovens. We will sell our resins directly to manufacturers that injection mold, extrude, blow mold, or otherwise form plastic into end products.

Biobent’s resins do not suffer from many of the performance problems many bioplastics experience such as low strength and low required melt points. Biobent resins also have very low specific gravity compared to filled resins resulting in lighter weight parts.
Our use of inexpensive agricultural co-products permits Biobent resins to be produced and sold at prices competitive with and in volume production below that of petroleum derived plastics.

Biobent replaces up to 40% of non-renewable petroleum with renewable, low value agricultural co-products that otherwise might end up in landfills. This allows the Company to address a very large percentage of the $450 billion thermoplastics industry.

Environmental gain
Polymers are the 4th largest consumer of petroleum on the planet; only behind fuels, lubricants and asphalt. Worldwide it is estimated that over 500 billion pounds of polymers are sold each year making this a $450 billion industry. With limited petroleum on the planet, rising oil prices and national security interests, finding way to reduce petroleum consumption is of paramount importance.
Biobent’s bio-composite polymers can be made with up to 40% renewable content (soy or other renewable agricultural co-products), significantly reducing U.S. need for petroleum.
